East 17 at the O2 Academy Newcastle

Event Date: 07/09/2011

90s boy band East 17 played last night at Newcastle's O2 Academy. Though we haven't heard much from the boys for a while, it turns out they are still playing to big crowds. The band made their name in the early nineties by being the anti-boy band. Instead of the clean cut image portrayed by their contemporaries, East 17 instead pushed their own image which involved tattoos, shaved heads and facial hair. It certainly paid off, with the band having numerous No. 1’s including the Christmas classic that was "Stay Another Day". Even though it has been some years since they have made a new album, the band can still draw a crowd, and they even offered a meet and greet with their fans before the gig. WinkBall reporters were at the O2 Academy in Newcastle talking to fans of East 17.
