Stefan is reporting at the Festival of Dangerous Ideas
An open forum of discussion and debate taking places in London’s East End, the Festival of Dangerous Ideas aims to provoke yet inspire through a series of screenings, workshops, musical performance and open debates throughout the day. With the world currently experiencing a multitude of problems in the economic, social and political sphere, the Festival of Dangerous Ideas is a chance for people perhaps disenchanted by the current status quo, or even simply interested in open discussion, to come down and talk more about ideas concerning the economy, democracy, the war and the current backdrop of cuts that are prevalent in Britain today. This multi-media event, taking place all day long at the contemporary arts venue Rich Mix in Bethnal Green on Saturday 17th March 2012 would feature some of the brightest and most interesting figures old and new from varying backgrounds be it comedy, politics and literature. Featuring contributions from political veteran and former cabinet member Tony Benn, comedienne Josie Long and author of the book Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class; Owen Jones, discussion promised to be fruitful with a range of different ideas openly debated in numerous ways.
