This year the Southbank Centre hosted the 6th annual London Literature Festival and celebrated the significance that London has in the world of literature. From the 5th to the 13th of July 2012, the Southbank Centre turned into a literature hub and welcomed world-class authors, poets, artists and general book lovers. This year’s line-up featured some of the leading names in the contemporary literature scene. Amongst them were those of Mark Haddon, John Pilger, Stella Duffy, Siri Hustvedt, Noo Saro-Wiwa, John Banville, Will Self and the fantastic children’s authors Michael Morpurgo and Andy Stanton. For over a week, the Festival gave the opportunity for all fans of the written word to meet their favourite authors and be a part of their insightful talks and enlightening workshops.
