WinkBall citizen video reporters were at Old Trafford on Wednesday 4th May 2011 for the Champions League semi-final second leg between Manchester United and FC Shalke. After an impressive performance in Gelsenkirchen at the Veltins-Arena, United held a 2-0 lead coming into the reverse fixture. But after a disappointing loss to Arsenal in the Premiership at the weekend, questions over the Red Devils' inconsistency started to arise at the wrong time. Sir Alex Ferguson made 9 changes to his side, which will have given Schalke some optimism in turning the tie around. It wasn't to be though, as another emphatic team effort saw the hosts run out 4-1 victors, totalling 6-1 on aggregate. Goals from the oft-criticised Darron Gibson and Anderson (2), added to Antonio Valencia's opener and sandwiched Jurado's consolation. WinkBall reporters spoke to the Manchester United and Schalke fans before and after kick-off to gather expectations and reactions to the contest. United fans were ecstatic about reaching the final at Wembley - a repeat of 2009 against Barcelona! Schalke fans were proud in defeat, signalling the semi-finals as a great achievement to reach. Were YOU at the game tonight? What did you make of the action? Can Manchester United add to their European cups of '68, '99 and '08? Upload your video message below and have your say!
